What did I learn from last year? What I honestly learned was what I should have learned every past year.

In order to start a fresh New Year we must not forget the Christmas message. The Christmas message is not only seasonal (only the celebration is), it is for all seasons!  The beauty of celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior is to refresh our weary hearts, to give us new hope and strength to carry us through yet another year that God has prepared for us. What does saying goodbye to 2011 and hello to 2012 really mean? Well, I am sure many of us will start new resolutions, goals and embark on a new journey or so. But what about us who haven’t finished our 2011 journey, goals or completed our resolutions? Saying goodbye to 2011 to me means that everything that I had done or wanted to do is no longer going to be done the same way. 2012 is a year with new opportunities, challenges and possibilities as is every New Year that we reach in our lives. Do you really know how many more New Years you will see in your life time? Most of us don’t, but why not live today as if there is no tomorrow?  Saying goodbye to 2011 is letting go of old habits, old ways and anything that is stagnant or an obstacle in our way of moving forward.
