Steady In God

One more year gone. To some it just dragged on with each heavy step, to others it just flew by fast and furious. What next? If we don’t know what tomorrow will bring whats to say that we know what a whole New Year will bring. First things first: forget the past and stay steady in God. This new year is first and foremost a gift. We are blessed to be alive today. This 2017 Chapter has many empty pages pertaining to what we are to do, but on the other hand pages are spilling over with what God has already ordained and willed for our lives.

The 2016 Chapter of our lives is done, it has already been written. It contained some good things and some not-so-good things and unfortunately or fortunately some missed assignments and appointments that were never accomplished or completed, whether we were aware of them or not. Those unaccomplished tasks are history now and if God is not concerned or worried about them, why should we?

It’s time to focus on the future-what is to come. What is written in the pages of our life that line up with God’s perfect will and plan for us? Though we can’t read the future, we can still plan and set goals. The best way to focus on the future is to focus on Jesus. The only way to focus on Jesus is through the Word of God. Jesus is the Way, the Truth , and the Life. The Word will show us the Way to live, the Truth about our life, and Life itself according to God.

For most of us, last year our spiritual goal was to stay on track and obey God’s Word to the best of our knowledge and wisdom. This year we must continue our walk and re-double our efforts in touching generations for Christ. We shall stay energized, reverent and sensitive before God. Energized with God’s energy, an energy deep inside. An energy that is pleasing to Him. and we must do everything readily and cheerfully. Just as Paul writes to his friends, “My dear friends! I love you so much. I do want the best for you. Don’t waver. Stay on track, steady in God. (Philippians 4:1). Amen
